Vacancy: Education Project Manager

Based in Hanoi

We are looking for a Vietnamese national for the position of Project Manager to work in our Education Team. The post holder will be responsible for managing a three year education project “ Creating equal opportunities in education for ethnic minority children” to be implemented in Dien Bien Dong district (Dien Bien province) and Van Chan District (Yen Bai province)

The successful candidate will be based in Hanoi with frequent travels to project sites.

Main Responsibilities

The position is responsible for the effective management and coordination of the project across the two provinces, between the different partners and with donor in order to ensure the project’s successful implementation. The post holder will also ensure that the experience of the project is well analyzed, documented and shared with policy makers, donors and members.

Key Competencies:
• BA, education background and experiences in education for ethnic minority (preferable of MA level)
• At least 3- 5 years of experience in managing international development programme/projects
• Demonstrated experience in project design, management, monitoring and evaluation
• Demonstrated skills in financial and grants management
• Working knowledge of education policies and practice
• Proven skills in representation and advocacy
• Experience in personnel management
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Ability and willingness to work overtime and under pressure if and when necessary
• Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches
