Energy Specialist & Project Coordinator
Job Opening: Energy Specialist & Project Coordinator, MAVA Project, WWF-Greater Mekong (Consultant)
The Greater Mekong region is one of the biologically richest places on the planet; its varied natural resources support the livelihoods and well-being of millions of people in mainland Southeast Asia. *WWF-Greater Mekong (GM)*– on the ground in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam – is working to conserve the region’s biodiversity and build a secure and sustainable future for people and wildlife
WWF-Greater Mekong is seeking an experienced consultant as *Energy Specialist and Project Coordinator *for its regional project funded by MAVA Foundation to improve power sector planning and development in the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) through a multi-stakeholder participatory planning process (PDPs) and to launch and disseminate a full technical report on sustainable energy and build public sector capacity.
Base location: Ho Chi Minh city (Vietnam) or Bangkok (Thailand)
Duration: 18 months (10 days/ month)
Key requirements:
- Master’s degree in field of energy/power sector
- Qualification in Project Management
- More than 10 years of experience (preferably in the Mekong region) in the field of energy/power sector, with government agencies, civil society and technical partners.
- Power sector specialist with advocacy experience
- Coordination, Report writing, Presentation, Monitoring & Evaluation
- Strong team player with ability to work in virtual teams, under tight deadlines with limited supervision, and willing/able to travel frequently
