Establish a GIS-based platform to promote Phuc Sinh’s supply chain management
in the Central Highlands of Vietnam
Background
Phuc Sinh Corporation (https://phucsinh.com) ranks among Vietnam’s top 10 exporters in both markets. Renowned for their leadership in Rainforest Alliance (RA) standard farming in Vietnam in the industry. For over two decades, Phuc Sinh has successfully built responsible supply chain by sustainable cultivating, distributing which safe to consumers, related communities, forests and natural resources.
The Dutch Fund for Climate and Development (www.thedfcd.com) provides finance and Technical Assistance (TA) to enable, mobilize and scale private sector funding for climate-smart development in two stages, origination, and investment.
Phuc Sinh and DFCD agreed to implement an origination project to support the development of “Scaling climate-smart coffee practices among vulnerable communities in Vietnam’s Central Highlands, by Phuc Sinh”.
Objectives of the assignment
The overall intention of this project is to support Phuc Sinh to establish a GIS-based platform to promote its supply chain management and risk management for IFC-PS, Rainforest Alliance (RA) standard and EUDR compliance in the Central Highlands of Vietnam.
- Develop a traceability monitoring system for certified actors which include smallholders within the PS’s supply chains in complying with the RA and EUDR for the project areas (Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Son La)
- Provide traceability monitoring system for conventional farms that PS is sourcing their material outside of certified project in accordance with the project framework (ESAP).
Activities/Tasks
The following activities are performed under the guidance and supervision of Phuc Sinh Group’s Sustainability Team and SNV’s specialist and the selected external TA.
- Developing GIS based monitoring system with geolocation and related information of certified householders’ layer in the projected areas in accordance with available information on: RA requirements, deforestation free EUDR, NDPE standard, and biodiversity etc.. at farm levels
- GIS based monitoring system chieving landscape-level NDPE standards, EUDR requirements in the conventional supply chains, and at least 30% farm-level have ensured of compliance to these standards
- Developing a traceability application that’s integrating GIS based information and monitoring system for these certified and non-certified supply chains in project areas
- Testing the application and verifying the system by local/related stakeholders
- Presenting/Training for IMS and local stakeholders for using the application in establishing and monitoring of Phuc Sinh’s supply chain management plans
Deliverables
- Geolocations on GIS based monitoring maps with required information as above (RA, EUDR/NDPE, Biodiversity etc.)
- Traceability applications for certified and non-certified supply chains which are tested/verified by the users
- Final report on establishing a GIS-based platform to promote Phuc Sinh’s supply chain management for Rainforest Alliance (RA) standard and EUDR compliance in the Central Highlands of Vietnam (full report)

Selection Process
SNV will review all Expressions of Interest received in accordance with the guidelines and criteria in this solicitation. SNV reserves the right to exclude any EOIs that do not meet the guidelines. Please note that SNV is unable to provide detailed feedback to those EOIs that are not selected.
- Step 1: SNV will shortlist selected EOIs, and unsuccessful respondents will be notified. Successful applicants will be contacted by SNV.
- Step 2: SNV will release Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for the specific activities and contract with the selected organizations/ consultants.
Protection of Information
We request that Expressions of Interest responses be free of any intellectual property that the applicant wishes to protect. Should offerors wish to include proprietary intellectual property that they believe would be helpful for SNV, please note the proprietary nature of such information. Costing information will be kept confidential and will not be shared beyond SNV.
Issuance of this EOI does not constitute a commitment, award, or engagement on the part of SNV nor does it commit SNV to any future commitment or engagement.
