EQUALITY BETWEEN WOMEN AND MEN (EWM) FACILITATOR


SUMMARY:

The VIETNAM COOPERATIVE ENTREPRISE DEVELOPMENT (VCED) Project, financed by Global Affairs Canada, was approved by MARD under the Decision No. 4044/QD-BNN-THTQT on October 04th, 2016.

VCED is operating under the responsibility of Colleague of Management for Agriculture and Rural Development II (CMARD 2), its project owner. This is co-managed by CMARD 2 and SOCODEVI, a Canadian non- government organization. The project office is located at 45 Dinh Tien Hoang Str, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

The VCED Project is an important capacity building project that expect to support agricultural cooperative in dairy milk and fruits value chains. This project aims to improve Vietnamese cooperative sector contribution to gender-equitable economic growth and to women and men farmers’ livelihood conditions. To achieve this, VCED Project will work at three different levels:

  • Establishment and strengthening of sustainable agriculture cooperative enterprises in strategic value chains within the Vietnamese economy to become models of reference for scaling up;
  • Improvement of productivity and quality of agriculture production in a sustainable manner at the farm (household W/M) level, with value added;
  • Support the Government and stakeholders of the cooperative sector in the establishment of an enabling environment for the cooperative development.

We are looking for qualified candidates for the position of EWM facilitator in Soc Trang Provinces.

WORKING PLACE: in Soc Trang

DURATION: Since January 2018 to 31st March 2020

GENERAL RESPONSIBLE AND DUTIES:

In the general, the EWM Facilitator will be responsible for execution the specific EWM activities and supporting on EWM mainstreaming into the project activities follow the VCED’s approaches as well as promotion of the EWM in the province in charged so that contribute into successful implementation of the VCED project’s EWM strategies. She/he will take key duties below:

  • Build and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders;
  • Carry out the Farmer Field School (FFS) activities in the field (mainly training and workshop) regarding EWM activities, for the benefit of the farmer (W/M) households and cooperatives level;
  • Design of related tools regarding to EWM activities, conduct logistic arrangement: invitation and logistic, contribute on adaptation of the training material, hand-out, as well as planning and monitoring for training workshop at household and cooperatives level;
  • Encourage at all times the participation of women and assessment of equality between women and men.
  • Contribute to reports results and challenges in the implementation of the EWM activities

She/he will be under the supervision of the EWM Specialist and with the support of Project Director.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

VCED Project’s EWM Facilitator will demonstrate significant knowledge and sensitivity on EWM, knowledge and experience on project implementation and monitoring. EWM Facilitator will demonstrate strong abilities, skills and experience in developing and facilitating participatory training courses and/or workshops for adults in rural area.

More specifically knowledge and skills expected are:

  • University Degree in social science or other relevant fields;
  • Gender sensitivity
  • At least 3 years of experience in field liaised with EWM training and facilitating, with farmer’s organizations and agriculture;
  • Knowledge and experience in the field of training course design, training and workshop facilitation; conducting of action plan; coordination, monitoring and evaluation of training/workshop activities.
  • Fair knowledge and skills in English communication and writing,
  • Knowledge and skills of technology information (Windows Office, internet, others);
  • Capacity to work independently and as a team working;
  • Available to travel to the countryside and work sometimes on weekends;
