Since 2002 Vietnam General Statistic Office (GSO) has been organizing annual enterprise survey for whole country. Moreover, GSO has already done General survey for agriculture sector in 2001 and 2006 and the Rural enterprise survey in 2009 in cooperation with SMEs project. Those are valuable information sources for research activities, decision making of enterprises and for government’s officers. In the past, IPSARD has cooperated with GSO to compile Atlas that statistically described Vietnam agriculture sector based on provincial statistic reports for area, productivity, production in 2004. However, no agencies have analyzed the General agriculture survey and enterprise survey and transfer information to presses that are comprehensive, friendly and easy to read for concerning people. According to this fact, in the second year (2010-2011) of project, IPSARD intends to cooperate with GSO, with support from AECID and some other donors, will analyze and compile Vietnam agriculture and rural enterprise atlas. This activity will be assigned for Center for Agricultural Policy in executing and initially calling for support from other donors to compile this atlas.
Within the framework of this activity, they need the support of 5 expert groups
Group 1: Data extraction. We need the support of 05 experts to extract data from available GSO’s surveys for further data analysis.
Group 2: Data analysis. We need the support of 02 experts to analyze data collected from available GSO’s surveys.
Group 3: Map template designing. We need the support of 02 experts to design the map templates on ArcGIS 9 for presenting analyzed results.
Group 4: Mapping and describing data. We need the support of 02 experts to map the analyzed results and describe the maps following the proposed criteria.
Group 5: Exporting Jpeg images and creating Atlas CD. We need the support of 02 experts to export the thematic maps into Jpeg format and create Atlas CD.
