Context

Passerelles numériques, a non-profit organisation, is dedicated to helping as many young people as possible from disadvantaged backgrounds obtain education and qualified employment in the IT sector.
Established in Cambodia, the Philippines and Vietnam, Passerelles numériques currently trains 556 students and hopes to train 750 over the next three years. Passerelles numériques employs 95 people based in these three countries, as well as a small team in France.

Passerelles numériques relies on the financial support and skills of a number of partners such as Accenture, Econocom/Osiatis, CA Technologies and Altedia, and benefits from donations by individuals.

In Vietnam, Passerelles numériques started its mission in 2010, with the training centre based in Da Nang, in the centre of Vietnam. In 2012, the first batch graduated with 30 students, and most of them had a job right after graduation. In October 2013, the second batch of 54 graduates completed the training. There are currently 90 students.

General Description of the Job

Passerelles numériques Vietnam (PNV) is looking for a new External Relations Manager to maintain and develop the relationships between the organisation and the partner companies and prospects, with the main objectives of promoting PN program towards companies thus securing internship placement for PNV students and facilitate job placement for graduates. The External Relations Manager is a key person to create a positive public image for PNV. S/he is assisting the General Manager in external communication as well as in the relationships with the Vietnamese Authorities.

Specific Responsibilities & Duties

  • Under the direct supervision of PNV General Manager, the External Relations Manager will be in charge of the following activities:
  • Managing external relations
  • Create and implement the external relations annual plan; develop the network of local partnering companies, organizations, donors and NGOs; coordinate events and actions to promote PNV and enhance the organisation’s reputation…
  • Securing and monitoring Internship placement
  • Produce and implement an annual internship strategy in collaboration with Training Department to ensure internship placement for all students; follow up the students during internship and organise the evaluation system…
  • Facilitation and monitoring of job placement
  • Produce an annual job placement strategy in collaboration with Training department; provide an effective preparation to the students for job access; provide support and counselling to students and graduates on job access…
  • Managing his/her team
  • Manage the External Relations office team (2 to 3 persons) and supervise their work in all aspects.
  • Coordinating Business Life Training for students (BLT)
  • Develop, coordinate a Business Life Training Program for the students; update and improve the curriculum and training materials…
  • Coordinating communication
  • Produce an annual communication plan with the guidance of PN Communication Manager; be responsible for all communication materials and for the compliance of PNV communication with PN charter and guidelines
  • Assisting for Authority / partners relations
  • Assist PNV General Manager and represent PNV to develop and maintain local authorities and partners relations and exposure, and support the General Manager for certification and registration of the organisation with relevant authorities.
  • Coordinating Fundraising
  • Promote the second life for computers program and organise its logistic, encourage local companies’ partnership for equipment donations, fundings of special budget lines, initiate local fundraising with PN France Fundraising Manager guidance.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential requirements (“must have”):

  • At least five years of experience in corporate sector, preferably in marketing, commercial or communication positions
  • Fluency in English and Vietnamese
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Experience in team management
  • Good command on communication tools and MS Office
  • Expected soft skills
  • Very good team player
  • Motivated to work for non-profit organization, especially with young people from underprivileged background
  • Organised, autonomous and flexible
  • Ability to adapt to different environments and different cultures
  • Good balance of humility and self-confidence
  • Keen to learn new things

“Nice to have” skills:

  • Master Degree in Business administration / marketing
  • Knowledge of French language
