FANTA Program Coordinator for Nutrition

FHI 360 is an international, non-governmental organization that works with the Vietnam Ministry of Health, other ministries, provincial health services, and local non-government organizations to promote the health and well-being of the Vietnamese people, particularly vulnerable and marginalized populations. In Vietnam, FHI 360 is currently building the capacity of local organizations in HIV prevention, care & treatment, TB control; nutrition assessment, counseling, and support (NACS); maternal and child health; dengue control; behavioral and epidemiologic research methods training; clinical research in new vaccines and drugs; and laboratory strengthening.

We are seeking qualified candidates for the position of FANTA Program Coordinator for Nutrition, based in Hanoi, Vietnam.

PROJECT SUMMARY:

The Food and Nutrition Technical Assistance III Project (FANTA) works to improve and strengthen nutrition and food security policies, strategies, programs and systems through technical support to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and its partners, including host country governments, international organizations, and nongovernmental organization implementing partners in the areas of maternal and child health and nutrition in development and emergency contexts, HIV and other infectious diseases, food security and livelihood strengthening, agriculture and nutrition linkages, and emergency assistance in nutrition crises. The project is a 5-year cooperative agreement managed by FHI 360 and funded by USAID.

Position summary:

Program Coordinator manages and coordinates FANTA’s technical assistance in Vietnam to strengthen the integration of NACS into the national response to HIV and TB. This includes working with the National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) to develop NACS training and counseling materials in coordination with other stakeholders and supporting U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)/Vietnam partners in planning and implementing NACS activities. The Program Coordinator reports on technical matters to the Technical Specialist III based in Washington, DC.

Position Requirements
- Advanced degree in medicine, public health, or a related discipline
- 10 years of experience in Vietnam in public health. preferably in nutrition
- 4 years of experience working in HIV
- Experience in technical assistance, program design, management, policy development and analysis, M&E
- Solid understanding of the MOH and provincial health services, particularly the integration of donor-supported programs into national and provincial responses
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide array of people in a complex organization
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in both Vietnamese and English
