BACKGROUND:

Ho Chi Minh City Health Public Association (HPHA) is the professional social organization working in the field of public health in Ho Chi Minh City. HPHA is currently working with southern authorities of National Tuberculosis Control Program and Pham Ngoc Thach Hospital to implement PROPER CARE PROJECT, community-based activity and comprehensive intervention of health care which was launched in April 2014. In addition to PROPER CARE PROJECT, HPHA has experience in community engagement and implementation of community-based projects, particularly in HIV/ AIDS area.

In collaboration with Friends for International Tuberculosis Relief (FIT) & IMPACT TB, the new project aims to engage with clinics, hospitals and pharmacies in District 6, 8, 12, Hoc Mon, Tan Binh, and Binh Chanh in TB prevention. FIT is a registered non-profit organization working in the field of tuberculosis (TB) prevention and care service delivery, technical assistance, advocacy and research. IMPACT TB is a project to find and treat cases of TB in communities in both Nepal and Viet Nam.  The IMPACT TB project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 733174. Successful applicant will work for this project.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Visit periodically private health facilities to establish relationship and persuade them to cooperate with the project.
  • Record daily working information into CRM software.
  • Make sure that agreements are signed and updated with private health facilities.
  • Promote chest X-ray for TB screening.
  • Transfer sputum smear for daily testing as needed.
  • Notify testing result to the patient and doctor.
  • Evaluate patient eligible to receive support and provide them with support.
  • Support patient’s enrolment.
  • Support patient to register in the VDOT research.
  • Coordinate with Site Coordinator of Proper Care Project to find loss to follow-up.
  • Implement advocacy project activities for the private health facilities.
  • Support all aspects of project implementation as requested.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A College or University Degree in a relevant discipline such as pharmacy, public health, social development, science or related fields. Experience in private health sector is an asset. Good communication skill.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work over time. Good working attitude, dynamic and ability to work well individually as well as in teams.
  • Self-motivation, willingness to learn, service-orientation and ability to work under high pressure and within a limited time frame.
  • Computer skills, including familiarity and comfort with using Microsoft Word, Excel, email and others.
  • Good knowledge of English would be a strong asset.
