Field Project Coordinators (2) (based in Hanoi Coordination Office)

VECO Vietnam is one of the 8 regional and country offices in Africa, Latin America and Asia of Vredeseilanden, a Belgian NGO for assistance in development.  VECO Vietnam wants to contribute to viable livelihoods of organized family farmers through sustainable agriculture chain development (SACD).

They are currently seeking 2 (two) dynamic and motivated Vietnamese individuals for the positions of Field Project Coordinator. The incumbent will be based in Hanoi Coordination Office but will spend more than 60% of the time in the assigned Project Office.

Job Purpose: The Coordinator will lead and coordinate programming and implementation of the SACD Program of VECO in respective Project Office:
1. Yen Lap Project Office (Yen Lap District): tea and rice value chains
2. Lang Son Project Office (Lang Son City and Viet Tri City):  Safe vegetables chains.

Report to: SACD Program Manager

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the VECO Project Office pertaining to office administration, finance and program;
- Lead the Project team and partners in preparation and implementation of activity plans according to standard systems and procedures of VECO;
- Translate program documents and provide interpretation to expats when required;
- Provide technical advice to program partners in their planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the program;
- Organize and coordinate meetings among VECO partners in the program area;
- Liaise with the different chain actors to explore and facilitate ways to strengthen relationships and collaborations, and accessing of services and resources;
- Project cycle management linked to the planning, learning and accountability (PLA) system of VECO.
- Financial planning and reporting of program activities;
- Represent VECO Vietnam at the project site when required.

Requirements:
- University Degree or equivalent in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Development Studies or other related field. Master’s Degree would be an advantage;
- At least 5-years experience in agricultural and rural development programs, including 3 years in supervisory work;
- Experience in working with Government agencies;
- Previous work on market or value chain development preferred;
- Willingness to travel and spend significant time at the field office location;
- Knowledge of poverty and food security, sustainable agriculture and gender issues;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Team leadership and ability to manage, coach and motivate colleagues and partners;
- Demonstrated  training and capacity building skills,
-  Ability to monitor and evaluate activities of program partners;
- Ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with colleagues and partners;
- Active listener and good cross-cultural communicator;
- Very good working English, both written and spoken.
