Organization and project description: Plan is an international humanitarian, child-centered community development organization without religious, political or government affiliation. Plan Vietnam, in cooperation with the local authorities, is currently implementing projects in 15 provinces and cities in the northern and central regions of the country. Plan Vietnam has a new Country Strategic Plan CSP4 for 2016-2020, which outlines the situation of children, and Plan’s response to these issues in the areas of health, education, livelihoods, child protection, water and environmental sanitation.

The Empowering female migrant youth to succeed in the city and workplace project started on 1st June 2016 and will end on July 2019, in Hanoi/Vietnam. Goal of the project is “Enhance the resilience and economic security of migrants in urban areas by providing youth (aged 18-30) with soft skills, life skills and ready to work skills, leading to decent work (as define by the ILO) opportunities”. Towards this end, approximately 2000 female migrant youth will receive information and counselling on housing information, jobs and training opportunities; 800 of them enrol in training courses on technical vocational skills, soft skills and ready to work skills, 590 transit into decent employment, at least 50 female migrant youth are supported to start or engage in business activities. We also built the network of at least 100 businesses to provide decent job and internship opportunities to the female migrant youth.
