Save the Children started our work in Vietnam in 1990, and implements programs in the key thematic areas: Education, Health and Nutrition, Child Protection, Child Rights and Governance, Child Poverty, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Emergency Response. At present, Vietnam Country Office has programs in 22 out of 63 provinces in Vietnam.

We are looking for a Vietnamese national for Consultancy service, with following information:

I. Objectives of the Consultancy:

Producing 02 video clips:

1. Life in My Country video; and
2. Hand drawn animation video of the Child Sponsorship Program

The purposes of making these videos are to help sponsors feel better connected to their sponsored child by deepening their understanding of their sponsored child's life, while also teaching them about how our programs involve families or community members and how we work to support the connection with their sponsored child.

II. Consultant’s responsibilities:

  • Using interview, narrative text and/or visual storytelling, show viewers:
    • What life was like for the child and his/her family or community before sponsorship?
    • How the child and his/her family or community participates in sponsorship activities?
    • How life or the child’s future has changed because of sponsorship? What are the hopes and dreams for the child, for the family and/or for the community?
  • Mix scenes of Sponsorship programs with community scenes throughout to make video dynamic and keep viewers engaged.
  • The Life in My Country video should be approximately 1:00 – 1:30 minutes long and not exceed a maximum of 1:30 minutes. While the hand drawn animation video of the Child Sponsorship Program should be approximately 3:00 – 4:0 minutes long and not exceed a maximum of 4:00 minutes.

III. Expected deliverables outputs:

  • The two videos should be Full HD under MP4 media file
  • After finishing the videos, Save the Children must have:
    • 02 DVD copies for each videos (04 DVD copies in total)
    • All of the selected footages
    • The final project files for editing afterward

IV. Duration/Timeframe:

  • Life in My Country video: Travel to Lao Cai province on 6-7 June 2018, finish the video on 13 June 2018
  • Hand drawn animation video of the Child Sponsorship Program: 6-31 June 2018

V. Consultant’s Requirements:

  • The filming crew should be consisted of 3-4 members, including director, camera operators and backstage assistant
  • Fully equipped equipment, such as cameras/camcorders, micros, voice recorders, lightning equipment and flycam if possible…
  • Follow Save the Children’s scripts but the consultants should contribute ideas and suggestions to improve the quality of the videos
  • Montage and edit the videos to meet the requirements of Save the Children’s branding;
    Be able to edit the videos until all requirements are met
  • Provide translation and subtitles/captions for the videos with the assistance of program’s staff
  • Add visual effects for the attractive of the videos
  • Be sure to included explanation of the program’s activities
  • Follow the filming schedule in Lao Cai
  • Submit the videos on time and meet the requirements
  • Be a good listener and a professional team

VI. Consultant’s Qualifications:

  • Having background and knowledge in media and communication
  • Having knowledge and strong experiences in movie making
  • Having knowledge and experiences in graphic design
  • Ability to follow the schedule
  • The consultants should be influence in English and Vietnamese
