Vacancy: Food Security Project Officer
Based in Hanoi

We are looking for a Vietnamese national for the position of Food Security Project Officer to join our Northern I Program. The successful candidate will be based in Hanoi with sometime travels to project sides.

Main Responsibilities

This position is responsible for assisting the project manager and Save the Children Japan country representative in managing the Child Nutrition Project especially food security component in Yen Bai province, and directly developing and implementing the project action plan to ensure achievement of the project objectives. He/she is also responsible for planning and implementing other projects in Yen Bai in the future if assigned.

Key Competencies

Essential
• Education: BA degree or higher on agriculture.
• At least three years’ experience working on organic agriculture or rural development area.
• Have a practical experience to do agriculture technique such as compost, BE making, rice planting, fruits propagation and cattle raising.
• Experience in project facilitation, training, planning, monitoring, and supervision.
• Experience working with government counterparts and the community.
• Solid understanding of the Vietnamese government system at provincial, district and commune levels.
• Good communication skills and team work
• Basic English both in verbal and writing
• Good computer skills: MS Office required. Experience in using statistical packages is preferred.

Desirable
• Experience working with ethnic minority group
• Environment protection knowledge
