Main role:

Being a key officer in charge of the development and implementation of VAEFA’s fundraising strategies and activities.

Specific Tasks

  • Work with VAEFA’s staffs and Board to develop fund-raising and communication strategy and action plan.
  • Daily scanning of online announcements, published media, various networks and relationships to identify new suitable funding opportunities from domestic and international donors.
  • Make brief translation of appropriate funding calls and share with VAEFA’s member organizations through emails.
  • Participate in various activities of VAEFA to gain good knowledge and understanding of the organization, its work and maintain good relationship with VAEFA’s members, donors and partners.  Represent VAEFA at meetings, workshops and events, where necessary deliver presentations.
  • Develop concept notes, proposals and/or other forms of application required by funding calls. Communicate, meet with donors and develop tailored applications for funding to specific donors when appropriate.
  • Occasionally, provide support to VAEFA’s members to develop concept notes/proposal to donors.
  • Maintain organised hard and soft files of all fundraising information.
  • Document cases, photographs and information from the implementation of VAEFA’s work.
  • Work with other staffs and relevant VAEFA’s members to produce VAEFA’s promotion materials (such as articles, press-release, newsletters, brochure, etc.), including writing and liaising with printers and designers and disseminating the materials through various channels.
  • Work with communication assistant to ensure good content and appearance of information on VAEFA’s website and face book page. Promote the organization work and image in different occasions.
  • Support Country Coordinator in the development of VAEFA’s work plan and reports.
  • Develop and maintain VAEFA’s contact database, ensuring that new contacts has been entered.
  • Support in interpretation and translation work when required.  Support program officer in organization of VAEFA’s training, workshops, fundraising and networking events.
  • Advertise and recruit volunteers as required to support fundraising activities.  Carry out volunteer inductions and supervise volunteers.
  • Occasional travel for meetings, trainings, workshop domestically and internationally



  • Sounds knowledgeable about or have at least one year of experience in fundraising.
  • Proven record of successful fundraising is an advantage.
  • Past experience working in development sector.

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent spoken and written skills in Vietnamese and English.
  • High standard of computer literacy (Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook and the Internet). Knowledgeable Photoshop and/or CorelDraw is an advantage.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage pressure and workload with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.  Creative thinking. Attention to detail.
  • Sensitive to issues facing disadvantage groups.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for work.
  • University qualification.
