UN Environment and UN Women launched a new programme on "Strengthening Human Rights and Gender Equality through climate change actions and disaster risk management" in 2018. The regional programme will run for five years, starting 2018, and focus on three countries in Asia- Bangladesh, Cambodia and Vietnam; and regional level activities. The Project aims to contribute to the overall Outcome of 'Implementation of climate change and DRR actions in Asia and the Pacific address key drivers of gender-based vulnerabilities and enhance human rights'.

UN Women Viet Nam aims to (1) assess the current gaps in SADDD collection, analysis and use to inform disaster and climate change risk analysis and action in Viet Nam and (2) develop guidelines on the collection of gender statistics in the environment sector (with a focus on disaster and climate change) and piloting a short questionnaire; (3) develop the gender profile in DRR for 2 pilot provinces.

In this context, UN Women Viet Nam Country Office is seeking for 3 consultants: one International gender and statistics consultant to team up with one National consultant on DRR statistic and one National consultant on general statistic to achieve the above activities.
