Gender Justice Program Officer


iSEE is a non-governmental organization working for the rights of all people, including minorities. iSEE aims to promote the values of freedom, equality and tolerance in Vietnamese society.

Working mainly in Hanoi, in a friendly, knowledgeable and diverse iSEE environment, Gender Justice Program Officer conducts communication, public awareness, community building and networking activities, supporting equality and gender justice across Vietnam.

Main tasks: (Read full in Job Description)

  • Coordinate and implement the activities of the gender justice program, including communication and public advocacy, as well as connecting with and supporting gender activists/groups

  • Work with the media, engage in media content development, and maintain partnerships with media agencies on gender issues.

  • Engage in the developing, supporting and operating of WEQUAL - Open Working Group for Gender Justice and Freedom of Choice

  • Participate in the development and implementation of iSEE's Gender Justice Program

Key requirements: (Read full in Job Description)

  • At least Bachelor degree, preferably in Gender, Journalism - Communication, Law, Anthropology, Development, and other social sciences.

  • At least 2 years of experience (through work or experience) in the field of development, minority rights or related social issues;

  • Excellent communication skills in both Vietnamese and English

  • Good writing and writing skills, both in Vietnamese and English

  • Have experience working with the media, mass media, and social media skills

Key Responsibilities

Ensure that the agency's programs on Gender Justice theme reflects iSEE's approach, priorities and values; The strategy is effectively implemented and has the resources needed to make a lasting and positive impact on the perception and practice of society.

Accountable to

  • Program Manager and iSEE Director

Key results and tasks

Program implementation & management

  • Implement and supervise in respect to time, quality and finance of projects, activities within Gender Justice program;

  • Develop, assist the targeted communities in gender equality and gender justice;

  • Prepare reports and financial procedures in accordance to the requests of donors and iSEE.

Information & networking management

  • Participate in different networks and working groups related to Gender Equality & Gender Justice;

  • Assist co-workers in building information system related to Gender field and iSEE’ concerning problems.

Strategy Development & Fundraising

  • Participate in the process of proposing and developing appropriate strategies for the Gender Equality and Gender Justice contents;

  • Develop programs and projects based on identified strategies;

  • Maintain and develop relationships with iSEE’s strategic partners in Gender Equality & Gender Justice.

Other Tasks

  • Participate in developing working group plans and other organization tasks;

  • Get involved and support professional advisory activities;

  • Participate in training, updating information to other staff about gender justice.

Key knowledge, skills and qualities

Required knowledge & skills

  • Have at least Bachelor degree, preferably in Gender, Journalism - Communication, Law, Anthropology, Development, and other social sciences.

  • Have basic knowledge and deep concern about gender equality and gender justice, ability to learn fast

  • Have at least 2 years of experience (through work or experience) in the field of development, the rights of minorities or related social issues;

  • Commit to the values ??and principles of iSEE's work such as gender equality, cultural diversity, sexual diversity, rights-based approach;

  • Able to work independently, take responsibility and complete work on time;

  • Have good verbal and written communication skills, both in Vietnamese and English

Desirable skills & qualities

  • Ability to analyze and synthesize problems, persuasiveness and work with a wide variety of individuals and communities

  • Experience working with the media, mass media, proficiency in social media skills

  • Ability to design graphics, produce innovative media products is an advantage

  • Experience in human resource management and working group management.
