Program Description:  

The USAID-funded Vietnam Local Capacity Development (LCD) Activity is a five-year activity with the overall goal to support the capacity of and engagement between local governments and organizations and improve linkages with the national government on local priority issues, leading to more transparent and effective policymaking and policy implementation processes, and better delivery of services to Vietnamese citizens, particularly marginalized or underrepresented groups. 

Position Summary: 

In order to increase the visibility of the USAID Local Capacity Development project, Creative is looking for a designer who is creative and capable of supporting the project to produce a series of promotional products including a folder, envelop, name card, standee/roll-up banner, brochure, PowerPoint presentation template, promotional gifts, e-backdrop for the launching event of the project. The designs should deliver consistent branding and convey the project's core objectives.

The consultant will work closely with the Senior Communications Manager to design promotional materials for the USAID Local Capacity Development project. The products must be compliant with the USAID Graphic Standards Manual and Partner Co-branding Guide and approved by USAID Vietnam, and of high quality for printing and/or production. The consultant is expected to revise the design several times subject to USAID’s comments and feedback. He/she is required to have the necessary equipment to design the following materials:

Results and/or Deliverables:

The consultant is responsible for designing the following materials:

1. Folder
2. Envelop with different sizes.
3. Name card.
4. Standee/roll-up banner
5. Brochure (bi-lingual)
6. PowerPoint presentation template
7. Promotional gifts such as name card holder/umbrella/ coffee mug/ thermos bottle
8. E-backdrop for the launching event of the project

Required Capabilities and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in graphics design/visual arts, or relevant field.
• Have at least 8 years of experience working as a Graphic Designer.
• Experience with designing brand identity packages for companies, non-government organizations, and/or development projects (USAID-funded projects are preferred).
• Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshops, InDesign, and other relevant software.
• Stay up to date on the latest graphic design techniques and tools.
• Understanding of the graphics production process.
• Be proactive in communications, collaborative, and flexible in the feedback process and revision of the designs.
• Be committed to performing the work effectively and follow the agreed work and deadlines.

Work Assignment:

Consultants with the requisite qualifications will be given a renewable consulting agreement under which specific work assignments will be ordered on an ad hoc basis, subject to consultant’s availability.  Consultants may be required to compete against other similarly qualified consultants, though generally work will be assigned and negotiated directly with the consultant.

Language and Communication Skills

• Native in Vietnamese
• Good written and spoken English skills required.
