Intern (part-time)

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is an international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development with worldwide operations. As a federally owned enterprise, we support the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. In Viet Nam, we have been working with our partners since 1993. We contribute to the improvement of living conditions for Vietnamese people via approximately 20 programmes and projects  covering the following three priority areas of cooperation: 1) Sustainable Economic Development and Vocational Training; 2) Environmental Policy, Natural Resources and Urban Development; and 3) Health.

The work of the GIZ Civil Society and Good Local Governance Programme (CSGLG) consists in strengthening and supporting our Vietnamese partners (non-governmental and mass organizations, as well as governmental actors at the district and municipal levels) through capacity development, financial support for projects that contribute to the objectives of the programme as well as the distribution and administration of third-party funding for poverty reduction projects through cooperation with the W. P. Schmitz Foundation.

The programme is looking for a qualified Vietnamese person to fill the position of Intern (part-time) for supporting the CSGLG-team

Field: Civil Society and Good Local Governance

Duty Station: Hanoi Tower, 49 Hai Ba Trung, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi

Duration: 15.09. to 15.12.2013

Main responsibilities:

- Supporting the project activities (newsletter edition, database update, administration and logistics), preparing/ translating necessary documents and materials from Vietnamese into English (e.g. project reports), interpretation skills (sporadically)

Minimum requirements

- Bachelor degree (no longer than 6 months after graduation) or in the last study year preferably foreign languages or related field
- Excellent English with experience in translation and interpretation, German language is an advantage
- Good command of MS-Office
- Management, communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Team spirit and flexibility, discreteness and loyalty.

Successful candidates will enjoy good working conditions with a friendly and creative working environment, open corporate culture. The intern will receive a small allowance 170 USD for 3 months for covering of travel cost.
