International Consultant to provide technical guidance and support to develop an analysis of skills demand and supply, and a skills strategy report for the textiles and garment sector in Viet Nam.

Description:

The ILO Future Skills in Textiles and Clothing Industries project funded by the Governments of the Netherlands and Japan aims to advance decent work and productivity in the sector by providing support to the effective implementation of the Vietnamese Government's Development Strategies on Vocational Education and Training and Textiles, Garment and Footwear to 2030, with a vision to 2035.

Under the framework of the project, a skills-needs forecasting study will be carried out in consultation with the ILO tripartite constituents to assess current and future skills needs in the textiles and garment sector, taking into account the situation of both women and men. The findings of the skills-needs assessment will be served as the basis for further consultation to develop a skills strategy for the industries in Viet Nam.

A national research entity will be hired to develop two reports including (i) an analysis of skills demand and supply in light of further industrial sectoral analysis for the textiles and garment sector in Viet Nam; (ii) a sectoral skills strategy report.

An international consultant will be therefore engaged to provide technical guidance and support to the national research entity to ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of the expected outputs.
