International Knowledge Management Intern

Project “Sowing Seeds of Change – Community based Climate change mitigation through sustainable rice production”

Background

SNV has been working in Vietnam since 1995. Using market based approaches, SNV is committed to reducing poverty by catalysing environmentally sustainable solutions for the poor in agriculture, energy, water & sanitation, and REDD+.

SNV is engaged in the agriculture sector implementing Sustainable Market, Inclusive Business and Climate Smart Agriculture projects and activities.  SNV is looking for an International Intern to support Knowledge management, business development, communication and research/analysis for the project “Sowing Seeds of Change – Community based Climate change mitigation through sustainable rice production” (SSC project).

Responsibilities

  • Support the Project manager to enhance and facilitation of the Knowledge management and promotion plan for the project.
  • Support development and publication/launching of Knowledge management products of the project in general and thematic components (SRI, RE, IB) in particular.
  • Support in the project PR material development for communication and business development activities.
  • Support in report and document development and proof reading for donor’s and clients
  • Assist in data collection, analysis systematization and case study development as part of M&E and promotion.
  • Assist in agriculture research and networking activities.

Candidate Profile

  • English native speaker.  Excellent oral and written (English) communication skills
  • University degree in economics, agriculture, agronomy, agribusiness, international development or related field.
  • At least 02 year of experience in the agriculture sector
  • Some experience in  knowledge management, monitoring & evaluation, and communication activities
  • Understanding of  agriculture value chains, market-based approach, sustainable production standards
  • Good organizing skills and interpersonal skills
  • Computer proficiency in Windows and Office based programs

The working duration is expected from September 2014 till June 2015, with approximately 15 days/month. SNV will support the intern a limited daily working allowance and local travelling expenses when the intern is required to work in the fields out of the working station in Hanoi. He/she will report to the SSC Project Manager, and work with multi-national team of professionals with rich and diverse fields of expertise.
