International or Local Consultant at ILO

The ILO Office in Vietnam invites applications for the positions below:

The ILO Country Office for Vietnam is implementing a technical co-operation project entitled Developing and Implementing a New Industrial Relations Framework in respect of the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work (“NIRF USDOL Project”) funded by United States Department of Labor. The aim of the NIRF Project is to assist Vietnam to reform and improve its industrial relations framework consistent with the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work (1998 – FPRW). It also aims to engage employers, workers and their representative in legal and institutional reform and enable them to realise their rights and responsibilities. One of its objectives is to providing technical assistance to the revision of labour laws and legal so that they are more compatible with the ILO FPRW in full consideration of the socioeconomic conditions of the country. This includes, in particular, supporting the revision of the Labour Code and relevant implementing instruments, in a manner that brings them into alignment with FPRW, with a strong focus on rights under Convention 98 and Convention 87.

ILO now seeks an international or local consultant to, based on the existing reports, prepare a list of criteria that are in accordance with the indicator and against which the level of alignment can be evaluated.  The consultant is also tasked to apply the criteria and evaluate the draft Labour Code against the criteria.
