The Swiss Red Cross (SRC) is a member of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies; it is part of a worldwide network of 188 National Societies. The purpose of the Swiss Red Cross activities is to protect the lives, health and dignity of human beings worldwide, the Swiss Red Cross is active in a large number of humanitarian programmes.

Since many years the Swiss Red Cross in Vietnam works in strict collaboration with the Vietnamese Red Cross particularly in the sectors of health, rural development, disaster mitigation/preparedness, and encouraging programs to prevent and alleviate human suffering.

The Swiss Red Cross has a small and functional office in the Capital of Hanoi in charge of coordination aspects with the Vietnamese Red Cross, the wider Red Cross Movement in Vietnam, and other DRR stakeholders.

Since September 2012 the Swiss Red Cross together with the Vietnamese Red Cross is delivering Community Based Disaster Risk Management services in most vulnerable communes of the province of Ca Mau. We are now also expanding CBDRM activities to the Province of Ben Tre.

We are currently looking for a talented, dynamic, and motivated Intern to support our work.

Job description – Internship

Title: Intern
Reference: 6 months contract – based in Hanoi with occasional travel to project areas.
Supervisor: Finance & Admin Officer
Starting from: 1st July 2013

1.Overall Responsibilities

- Support Logistic & Admin related issues of the Swiss Red Cross work in Vietnam.
- Support implementation of Swiss Red Cross projects activities in Vietnam.
- Assist 1 Finance & Admin Officer, 1 Project Coordinator, 1 Field Officer, and the Country Representative in their daily tasks.

2.Qualifications & Skills

- University Degree.
- Proficiency in English and Vietnamese (both oral and written).
- Proactive, responsible, and careful to details.
- Strong ability to work as a part of a Team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Constructive mindset.
- Capacity to foresee issues and propose innovative and practical solutions.
- Commitment to values and principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
