Internship for Women’s Rights and Public Services Program Directorate

ActionAid is an international development agency whose aim is to end poverty and injustice worldwide. Founded in the United Kingdom in 1972, for over 40 years, ActionAid works to support the poorest and most excluded people in Africa, Asia Europe and the Americas in securing their rights and eradicating poverty.

ActionAid has been working in Vietnam since 1989 and established its Representative Office in Hanoi in 1992. Since then, it has been focusing on initiatives to end poverty and promoting sustainable development in mountainous, remote and difficult regions as well as poor urban areas across Vietnam. ActionAid works in partnership with local partners in more than 25 provinces and applies Human Rights Based Approach to its entire work.

ActionAid Vietnam (AAV) is currently operating under Country Strategic Plan (CSP) VI (2018 – 2023) framework, focusing on three Program Priorities (PP), including: (1) Improve people’s capacity to build safe communities and adapt to climate change and disasters with alternative sustainable livelihoods; (2) Promote grassroots democracy to advance people’s rights to gender responsive public services; (3) Support partners, communities and organizations with practical capacity (skills, knowledge, space and networking) to advance social justice.

In 2018 AAV starts implementing 03 key projects funded by Global Fund for Women (GFW), ChildFund Korea (CFK) and Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung (RLS) focusing on promoting women’s rights, sexual reproductive health. At this moment, ActionAid Vietnam is transiting to new staff structure and Policy and Campaign staff will move to Program Directorate team in arranging Women’s Rights and Public Services (WRaPS).  WRaPS is lacking of human resource as staff needs to transit to new positions and take time for learning new technical and there are many national work which need to be dealt with. The Intern will help the WRaPS team logistic, translation, paper work so staff can focus on technical tasks. This paper aims at providing Terms of Reference to recruit a WRaPS Intern to support the WRaPS team (attached)
