Interpreter / Translator

The GIZ is the development service of the Federal Republic of Germany for personnel cooperation. Global Commitment – Local Partnership, this has been our principle since 1993, the start of our operations in Vietnam. The Program “Provincial Health System Improvement” is jointly funded by the Government of Germany and the Government of Vietnam.

In support of the component 3 “Improvement and strengthening of priority curative health services at provincial, district and commune levels”, they are currently looking for qualified Vietnamese candidates for the following position in their Provincial Office, Thai Binh, Thai Binh City:

Interpreter / Translator
as Personal Assistant

Language
Combination: Native language: Vietnamese. Foreign language: fluent English or German.

Position: Interpreter, to be stationed in Thai Binh city (Province Thai Binh) to work alongside the GIZ expert at the Provincial Hospital for Gynecology, Obstetrics and Reproductive Medicine on strengthening the department of newborn care.
Duration: As of now, max up to the end of June 2013 (after continuation of the program is an extension of the employment contract possible).
Main duties: Interpret during meetings from Vietnamese to English or German and vice versa. Translate reports and official letters, secretarial work and scheduling.
Qualifications and Experience: Degree in English or German or an equivalent education; at least 3 years of experience in interpretation translation; good computer skills in MS Word/Excel; Experience in development cooperation projects is considered an asset.

Salary: to be negotiated.

Preferred:
- Knowledge of healthcare or hospital sector would be desirable, are however not mandatory
- Excellent interpersonal communication and team work skills.
