IT officer
Role Description:
To maintain the KOTO computer network to enable the business to operate effectively. To support staff and trainees by providing good and reliable access to computer equipment and software through technical support, maintenance, advice and training.
Expected Outcomes:
- Efficient and effective provision of IT services and management of the computer network.
- Quality technical support and solutions for IT problems.
- Provision of good advice to improve IT systems, procedures and work flow.
Position Responsibilities:
Key Functions:
- Monitor computer system performance, review log files and observe system function to verify correct operations and detect errors.
- As necessary, conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems.
- Maintain record of problems and remedial action taken, changes and installation activities.
- Install, and perform minor repairs to, hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
- Ensure equipment is correctly set up for staff use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cabling, operating systems and appropriate software.
- Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or external technicians for service.
- Identify potential IT problem areas and suggest pro-active solutions to improve computer system reliability and performance.
- Answer users' inquiries regarding computer software and hardware operation to resolve problems.
- Develop training materials and procedures, and/or train users in the proper use of hardware and software.
- Prepare evaluations of software or hardware and recommend improvements or upgrades.
- Confer with management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications.
- Assist in conducting office IT system studies, including evaluation of workflow procedures, space requirements and design and cost comparisons.
- Confer with users to provide technical assistance and support.
- Read trade magazines and technical manuals and attend relevant seminars to maintain knowledge of hardware and software.
- Inspect equipment and prepare for delivery to users.
- Modify and customize user applications for internal needs.
- Provide support for users in the use of other peripherals such as printers, photocopiers….
- Provide support to the Logistics Department when required

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications:
University degree or Certificate course in IT
Work experience:
Minimum of 1 year working as IT technician
