Junior Advisor - Gender, Monitoring & Evaluation

SNV Vietnam is seeking a Junior Advisor - Gender, Monitoring & Evaluation.

Based in Hanoi frequent travel to other provinces (National associate consultancy contract & 70% of time).

SNV has been working in Vietnam since 1995. Using market based approaches, SNV is committed to reducing poverty by catalyzing environmentally sustainable solutions for the poor in agriculture, energy, water & sanitation, and REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation).

The USAID Regional Development Mission for Asia is financing a five-year (2011 – 2016) regional program entitled Lowering Emissions in Asia’s Forests (LEAF). The goal is to achieve meaningful and sustained reductions in GHG emissions from the forestry-land use sector and for Vietnam to benefit from the emerging international REDD+ framework. SNV Vietnam together with Winrock International, Climate Focus, VNFORESTs and other partners are responsible for implementing LEAF in Vietnam. We are seeking highly qualified national candidate for the position of Junior Advisor- Gender, Monitoring & Evaluation to join the LEAF project team.

Responsibilities

- Be Gender focal person of LEAF project:
- Undertake, promote, explore and inform gender-specific activities in LEAF interventions in-country
- Incorporate timely inputs and review of all central documents (quarterly & annual work plans, performance management plans and technical documents, etc.)
- Incorporate timely inputs to LEAF events (design and delivery of workshops, research/assessment, and trainings)
- Responsible for Performance Management Plan (PMP) of LEAF:
- Track implementation progress and compile data on indicators and achievement of results, targets, and milestones over the life of the project to ensure that the project targets are met
- Update PMP report quarterly and annually
- Responsible for Project Monitoring and Evaluation (PME) of SNV:
- Enter project data into PME online format routinely and systematically
- Maintain and keep update the PME format, ensure timely compilation of internal and external progress reports
- Other duties as required by LEAF Country Project Manager

Candidate profile

- Vietnamese National
- University degree in Agriculture, Management, Social sciences or related field
- At least 3 years of relevant working experience at international organisation(s)
- Experience in gender and social inclusion, monitoring and evaluation of projects and or programs
- Experience in forestry sector and climate change
- Understanding and experience working with NGOs preferred 
- Willingness to travel to project field sites and willingness to learn
- Initiative and creative in solving problems with strong facilitation and analytical skills
- Strong ability to work independently and with the team
- Good interpersonal and oral and written communication skills (English and Vietnamese)
- Good computer skills in MS-applications (Word, Excel, Internet, Email, Power Points)

Contract Duration:

One-year associate consultancy contract with a competitive salary package and possibility of extension
