From 2019 on, the project “Triple Win – Sustainable Recruitment of Vietnamese to become Nurses in Germany” will provide opportunities for young people to be trained as general or geriatric nurses in Germany. This project is implemented in collaboration with the International Placement Services (Zentrale Auslands- und Fachvermittlung; ZAV) of the German Federal Employment Agency (Bundesagentur für Arbeit; BA) and the Department of Overseas Labour (DOLAB) of the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA). The project will provide a number of 450 young people from Viet Nam with the opportunity to be trained as general or geriatric nurses in Germany. This vocational training is preceded by a 12-month-long intensive course in German language and prep classes, during which the project participants will be jointly accommodated in the Hanoi area. During this intensive course, as well as after migrating to Germany, the participants are taken care of by the GIZ project team in Vietnam and Germany to ensure their wellbeing and provide them with the best possible preparation for their future in Germany.

The project is looking for a local qualified candidate to fill the following position:

Junior Program Officer “Triple Win”
Duty station: Hanoi
Duration: 02.12.2019 to 30.09.2020 with possible extension

Main tasks:

  • supporting the development, utilisation and strengthening of local network structures (national governmental and non-governmental partner institutions in the field of skilled labour mobility)
  • supporting in communication with and reports to GIZ project team in Germany, ZAV and DOLAB
  • supporting project monitoring and updates information on project progress, documents and reports regularly on the status of results and
  • assisting with recording and documenting the results of all activities
  • providing assistance to project participants during their language training and preparation for migrating to Germany with regard to their
  • classes and matters of daily life, partly on the premises of the language school / accommodation
  • Supporting communication and cooperation with language class providers and accommodation facilities
  • Supporting the visa application and recruitment process and preparation for departure of the target groups and project PR
  • Support with project logistics and administration, such as:
    • Organization of events such as recruitment week and opening ceremony, with tasks including logistics and financial affairs
    • Communication with GIZ country office
    • Translations between Vietnamese and German

Minimum requirements:

  • Vietnamese nationality
  • Graduate of Bachelor/Master studies in social science, German language or related areas.
  • First experiences in an intercultural and multi-lingual context gained by internships and/or academic exchanges.
    Work or Study experiences in Germany are an asset.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Vietnamese. German is an asset.
  • Strong MS Office, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Highly motivated to learn and to contribute to a young and dynamic team of international and national staff, willing to take on
  • responsibility, work independently and effi
  • ciently, and travel to project sites for work if necessary
