The Program

Justice Initiatives Facilitation Fund (JIFF) is one component of The Justice Partnership Programme (JPP) funded by of the European Commission (EC), Sweden, and Denmark to support justice sector reforms in Vietnam. The JPP will address challenges in strengthening laws and policies by supporting the implementation of the Judicial Reform Strategy (JRS). JIFF is a grant-making programme designed to build the capacity of Vietnamese NGOs to contribute to awareness of rights, access to justice and judicial reforms.  

JIFF is seeking to LEGAL EXPERTS for a consultancy roster for temporary assignments. The assignments will be Hanoi based, but may include travel to the provinces.  JIFF will offer competitive rates at a level in line with the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Expertise and Qualifications

Applicants should have experience with (1) public legal awareness programming; (2) legal counselling to vulnerable groups; and/or (3) legal research.  Applicants will possess the following expertise and qualifications:

1)A relevant university degree, a law degree is preferable;
2)15 years of experience in NGO management, and/or legal/judicial reform programming
3)Demonstrated experience in providing technical assistance and capacity building to NGOs in Vietnam’s justice sector, using a variety of methods, including mentoring, peer to peer learning and traditional training
4)In-depth knowledge of legal and judicial reform programming, including experience in donor supported Justice Sector projects and initiatives.
5)Strong communication and writing skills
6)Proficiency in both verbal and written English and Vietnamese is required for success.

The call for the consultancy roster is open to Vietnamese nationals only.
