Salary: 400 - 500 USD per month

Work Location: Ho Chi Minh city

Job Description

The Literacy Specialist position has three parts.


• Work with rural elementary schools in the Mekong Delta in 2017 promoting children’s literacy.
• Develop and iterate on our organization’s literacy programs.
• Help create a fun, exciting and enjoyable place to work.


• Ensure the organization is complying legally regarding social insurance and taxes.
• Work with government to maintain registration in Vietnam.
• You will be helping to build an organization from the "ground up" in Vietnam.  If you like challenges, you will really enjoy this position.


• Balance organization budgets and communicate monthly financial spending.
• Approve all donation items for quality, such as: tables, chairs, shelving, Vietnamese language children's books, globes, etc.
• Ensure the quality of our programs at each library donation.
• Manage a small team of 1-2 employees.

Job Requirement

• Must enjoy children, travel and challenges.
• University graduate
• 1-2 years work experience.
• 1-2 years work experience in NGO or development.
• Must be able to work with government authorities at the city and rural levels.
• Must be competent at Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Honest, want to be a part of a results oriented team, and enjoy helping others.
• Good spoken and written English skills.
