Monthly salary range: VND 32,766, 907 to VND 36,879, 443

The Australian Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City is seeking a self-motivated and well-organised candidate to fill a vacant Locally Engaged Designate (LED) Officer (LE4) position. The exercise may be used to fill other LED positions over the next 18 months.

Working for the Australian Department of Home Affairs, Expatriate LED Officers apply complex legislation and policy to assess and decide visa applications and review work of Locally Engaged Staff in order to deliver visa programs. They may also undertake investigations and integrity checks in relation to applications, in accordance with departmental policy, and provide input to integrity reports.

Applicants should have strong verbal, written and analytical skills, possess sound judgement, have the ability to apply relevant legislation and policy to make lawful and fair decisions, and be able to maintain accountable documents, client information and personal identifiers with security, confidentiality and privacy.

The successful applicant will be offered a non-ongoing position with a possibility of contract extension and is subject to an allowance review. The full-time monthly gross salary ranges from VND 32,766, 907 to VND 36, 879, 443. The positions may attract an additional allowance depending on the skills and experience of the applicant.
