Manager of the Inclusive Business Accelerator

SNV Vietnam is looking for a Manager of the Inclusive Business Accelerator in Vietnam, based in Hanoi, Vietnam with frequent travel to other provinces (National consultancy contract)

SNV has been working in Vietnam since 1995. Using the market based approach, SNV is committed to reducing poverty by catalyzing sustainable solutions for the poor in agriculture, energy, water & sanitation, and REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation).

SNV’s Inclusive Business (IB) Program supports and promotes business initiatives that integrate the low-income population into the supply chain of companies as suppliers, employees, distributors and/or consumers that generate win-win solutions for both, economic benefits for the companies and job and income increase for the low-income population.

SNV, BoP Innovation Center and VC4A have partnered up to lunch an Inclusive Business Accelerator providing tailor made services for private sector companies to successfully overcome the pioneers gap for Inclusive Business entrepreneurs. The IBA is built around the following business units: 1) Collective, 2) Inclusive Business Accelerator local offices in Vietnam and Mozambique, and 3) On-line platform for knowledge dissemination and investor-investee match-making.

We are seeking for highly qualified candidates to fill in the position of Manager of the Inclusive Business Accelerator in Vietnam (2014-2016).

Responsibilities

• Responsible of overall administrative, operational and financial management of the IBA in Vietnam
• Lead the development and implementation of work plans and budgets
• Coordinate the development of the project’s procedures, framework, strategies and tools
• Coordinate activities and outputs with the implementing partners under the other components of the overall IB Accelerator project.
• Lead the identification of target sectors and market research to determine the level of activity, attractiveness and define future trends
• Lead the development of the framework, strategic material and information for workshops and seminars and training courses
• Establish and maintain close coordination and reporting with the Shareholders Board, Partners and Client
• Communicate the investment strategy and its rationale for engaging in specific transactions to stakeholders
• Engage locally potential companies for IB modeling and ideation
• Lead the dissemination of lessons learned, best practices, achieved impacts and knowledge developed.
• Provide inputs and coordinate as required by the other IBA Teams of the IB Accelerator: Collective, On-line and Commercial. Lead the monitoring and measuring of the social, economic and environmental impact
• Manage the investment and client portfolios
• Contribute to market intelligence analysis on low income markets
• Provide business mentoring, facilitation, training for business managers on IB implementation, and strategic technical assistance
• Develop business plans, financial analysis and feasibility studies
• Investor-Investee match-making

Candidate profile

• Vietnamese citizen
• MBA or equivalent qualification
• 7 years of relevant working experience in project management, private sector development in emerging markets and impact investing
• Understanding of poverty and social impact and exposure to on-line platforms.
• High professional integrity and sound business judgment in identifying potential business partners
• Ability to think independently, analyze problems, and identify solutions;
• Good understanding of field realities; ability to link different professional spheres: business, government, development and funding agencies
• Excellent spoken and written English and Vietnamese
• Good computer skills in MS-applications (Word, Excel, Internet, Email)
• Ability and willingness to travel.

Contract Duration: One-year associate consultancy with possibility of extension
