The World Agroforestry Centre (also known as the International Centre for Research in Agroforestry or ICRAF) is an independent research institution which generates science-based knowledge about the complex role which trees play in agricultural landscapes and rural livelihoods. As part of the Centre’s work to bring tree-based solutions to bear on poverty and environmental problems, researchers – working in close collaboration with partners – are developing new technologies, tools and policy recommendations for increased food security and ecosystem health.

The position

ICRAF Viet Nam country office is seeking for the dynamic motivated Market and Value Chain Specialist cum Project Manager to fill the vacant at country office based in Hanoi. This position is created to manage the BftW funded project “Agroecology for resilient landscapes to overcome poverty of ethnic minorities in Northern uplands” (2021-2025) and to lead the market and value chain research and business development of the same project. The post-holder will also support with market and value chain research and business development in various projects under CIFOR-ICRAF Viet Nam, including the newly funded “People, Primates, Plants: Co-managing Biodiversity and Improving Livelihoods in Vietnam” (2022-2025).

The position is required to establish and maintain close collaboration with Vietnamese government partners, most importantly departments and research institutes under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), their line agencies at provincial and lower levels, and private sector entities.
