Travel requirements: Frequent travel to districts within Ho Chi Minh City for training and monitoring missions with the possibility of infrequent travel to other site locations outside Ho Chi Minh City


Friends for International TB Relief (FIT) is a registered non-profit organization working in the field of TB prevention and care service delivery, research, technical assistance and advocacy. FIT is a young, dynamic and growing organization. We work in close collaboration with Provincial and National TB Programmes and other in-country partners to implement projects funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 program, the Stop TB Partnership’s TB REACH initiative, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, UNITAID, the World Health Organization, the Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases (TDR) and Johnson & Johnson. We also have multiple active research partnerships, including with the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in the UK, the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden, the KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation in the Netherlands, and Ceres Nanosciences and SureAdhere Mobile Technology in the United States. FIT staff have supported the implementation of other TB programs in South and Southeast Asia, and represented Viet Nam at multiple regional and international forums on TB technical assistance. Finally, FIT has represented civil society organizations from Viet Nam at regional events and at multiple events in the lead up to and during the United Nations High Level Meeting on TB in New York City.   • Enter and clean data in the TB prevention programme data management system and report to the Steering Department Manager at Pham Ngoc Thach Hospital and other stakeholders about technical errors or missing data.
  • Liaise directly with District TB Unit staff in Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces to follow up on all TB cases detected at Pham Ngoc Thach Hospital and referred to the districts or other provinces for TB treatment or vice versa.
  • Work with the programme team at Pham Ngoc Tach Hospital and District TB Unit staff to develop M&E plans and tools for capturing data in the field.
  • Support the programme team at Pham Ngoc Thach hospital on monthly, quarterly and annual data analyses and write reports as required. 
  • Other works as required.


  • An analytical mindset with problem-solving skills
  • Ability to decipher and organize large amounts of data
  • Strong data management skills, including proficiency in MS Excel and MS Access
  • Strong data analysis skills, using statistical software (such as Stata [preferred], SPSS, SAS and/or R)
  • Ability to work well in a team setting
  • Ability to complete milestones and work toward multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills


  • A bachelor degree in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics/statistics, or related discipline is required
  • Work experience with infectious disease programs and research.


  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Vietnamese is required
