Medical Counseling Trainer

Introduction:
Established in 1994, the Center for Research and Training on HIV/AIDS (CREATA) at Hanoi Medical University serves as a premier research center focusing on behavioral, epidemiological, and social science research on HIV/AIDS. Currently, with support from SAMHSA and PEPFAR (SAMHSA TI-236303), CREATA is collaborating with Integrated Substance Abuse Program (ISAP) at University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) to build the Vietnam HIV-Addiction Technology Transfer Center (VH-ATTC).
The purpose of this project is to reduce the individual and societal harm due to HIV and SUDs through the achievement of multiple goals: (1) To strengthen the substance use, mental health, and HIV treatment workforce, (2) To promote partnerships with key stakeholders to improve the quality of and access to substance use, mental health, and HIV treatment; and (3) To develop recovery-oriented systems of care within Vietnam.
CREATA is looking for a qualified and dynamic Vietnamese citizen to join the VH-ATTC team.

Position information:
Position title: Medical counseling trainer
Reporting to: Coordinator of VHATTC
Contract: Six-month probation period, followed by two-year contract with possibility of extension

Key tasks:
- Attend short-term training courses on addiction treatment in Vietnam and abroad
- Design, implement and monitor training activities by VH-ATTC
- Practice counseling in clinics associated with VH-ATTC
- Other tasks assigned by CREATA management staffs

Required qualifications:
- At least university degree in the field of psychology, medicine, public health, and social sciences
- Willingness to organize and provide training
- Experience with counseling and/or training is an asset.
- Excellent written and spoken Vietnamese and fluent in English
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Proven ability to problem solve and think proactively
- Ability and willingness to travel for extended periods (abroad and domestic)
- Good computer skills, especially with Microsoft Word and Excel, and in internet-based software. Ability to use design software (Corel, Adobe Photo) is a plus
