National Community Forest Management Specialist
AHT Consultant Office is now seeking for a qualified, highly motivated candidate to fill in vacancy the National Community Forest Management Specialist for the PNKB project in Dong Hoi, Quang Binh.
Community ForestManagement Specialist (NCFMS) in AHT consulting office to support the Project accelerating CFM, through establishing community forest management groups at village level, forest land transfer to those CFM groups, and forest management and protection planning and implementation in the Project.
Under the guidance of, and reporting to, the Deputy( CTA), and in cooperation with the CFM implementation unit in FPD and the District PMUs, the National Community Forest Management Specialist (NCFMS) will support and advice on a daily basis on the implementation of the agreed community forestry concept. S/He will work and coordinate her/his daily work with that of the National Forest Management Specialist (NFMS), and the GIZ Component
Job Requirements:
- University degree, preferably at least B.Sc. equivalent, in social or community forestry, agro-forestry, forest planning and inventory, natural resource management, community development, or related fields
- At least 5 years of relevant professional working experience in similar projects.
- At least 3 years of demonstrated experience in (development of) community forestry management in Vietnam.
- Thorough understanding of community forestry in the Vietnamese context, relevant regulatory/legal and policy framework, institutional setting and mandates at national and provincial level.
- Knowledge of, and experience in community entry approaches, community facilitation and consultation techniques, group dynamics and social processes.
- Expertise in forest participative volume surveys/assessments, and in data analysis.
- Physical and mental ability to work in remote areas for short periods.
- Good command of word processing and spread sheet software packages.
- Good command of English.
- High integrity and transparency in his/her working routines, and sense of responsibilities and commitment towards the assigned tasks and information confidentiality.
- Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team.
- Experience in micro-finance projects/programs is an advantage.
- Good command of GIS software and GPS devices is an advantage.
- Experience in Vietnam-German development cooperation projects (particularly KfW) or in the PNKB region is an advantage.
