National Consultants for the Study on Poverty Reduction

The Project “Support to the implementation of the Resolution 80/NQ-CP on directions of sustainable poverty reduction (2011-2020) and the National Targeted Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction (2012-2016)" (PRPP). The Project is supported by UNDP with cost-sharing from Irish Aid is to provide technical assistance for Ministry of Labor-Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) and other related agencies at central and local level.

In the 5th session of National Assembly XIII, the National Assembly (NA) promulgated a Resolution on NA Oversight Activity 2014, including the topic "The implementation of poverty policies and laws 2005-2012”. In order to implement NA Supreme Oversight, the NA's Standing Committee, the NA's Ethnic Council, the NA's committee and delegations in provinces/cities will conduct oversight activity in their localities. Based on the oversight results and the reports on poverty and poverty reduction programs in Vietnam over time, the consultations with related agencies, organizations and experts, the NA's Oversight team will develop a Report on oversight results and send to the NA's Standing Committee for review, comments and submission to the 7th session of National Assembly  XIII (5/2014).

The Committee on Social Affairs is assigned as the lead and a focal point to support the NA and its Standing Committee to implement this oversight activity. In order to support to oversight activity, the Committee on Social Affairs, in collaboration with PRPP Project/MOLISA, will conduct some thematic studies, including the Review on the studies on poverty reduction in Vietnam.

The project PRPP will recruit an independent consultant team including 04 national consultants to provide technical assistance to NA in reviewing on the studies on Poverty Reduction in Vietnam.
