National Coordinator

About the organization
The Asian Coastal Resources Institute Foundation (CORIN-Asia) is a non-governmental organization with the headquarter in Thailand. CORIN-Asia is interested in coastal resource management and community development. Currently, CORIN-Asia is implementing several projects under the Wetlands Alliance Program (WAP) to build capacity through poverty alleviation mainly in Xuan Thuy national park, Nam Dinh, Vietnam.

Basic Function
- To administrate all aspects of CORIN-Asia Vietnam
- To serve as a focal point for WAP implementation in Vietnam and coordinate provision of backstopping support to Local Partners in Nam Dinh, Vietnam

Specific responsibilities
- To administrate all aspects of CORIN-Asia Vietnam
- Represent CORIN-Asia Vietnam in order to maintain and expand linkages and network
- Act as an Office Manager
- Be responsible for managing human resource as well as financial and technical report
- Leads and facilitates work of the CORIN-Asia Vietnam
- Produce publications/documents/reports for internal and external circulation
- Prepare concept notes and proposals to seek small-grants from various embassies or donors to avail of potential project funding for work in XTNP or elsewhere in Vietnam
- Submits monthly program of work and worksheet to CORIN-Asia
- Do other related tasks and functions as requested by CORIN-Asia; and

To serve as a focal point for WAP implementation in Vietnam:
- Acts as a focal point for CORIN-Asia for WAP implementation in Nam Dinh, Vietnam;
- Coordinate the provision of, as well as provide backstopping inputs in the implementation of WAP Local Partners’ workplan in behalf of CORIN-Asia Foundation;
- Works with Local Partners to make detailed plan/action plan for the activities specified in the WAP Local Partners’ workplan;
- Works closely with Local Partners in the implementation of the reporting system;
- Ensure that Local Partners implement WAP workplan and submit necessary reports, i.e. accomplishment/progress, financial and others that may be required from time to time;
- Perform relevant field tasks to support WAP implementation by Local Partners;
- Support CORIN-Asia’s work in Vietnam in communicating to Regional Partners on matters pertaining to the implementation of WAP, which includes reporting (written and verbal).

Expected Outputs:
- Annual and Semi-annual workplan for CORIN-Asia Vietnam
- Detailed plan/action plan for each activity indicated in the workplan;
- Reporting system effectively implemented; and
- Monthly program of work and worksheet.
- Annual/Semi-annual reports and other special reports, as needed

Report and responsible to
CORIN-Asia Foundation Director and CORIN-Asia Regional Coordinator

Desired qualification:
- University graduate, preferably with background in coastal zone management, natural resources management or related field
- With 1-2  years experience in a similar capacity
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Pro-active approach to responsibilities and problem solving
- Can work independently and also a good team player
- Good communication and management skills
- Good English skills (both verbally and in writing)
- Experienced in writing reports and proposals is an advantage
- Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-cultural setting   
Starting date: 1st July 2011

Duration: The position will be subjected to 6-month full-time contract, with possibility of extension for appropriate candidate.
