The German Energy Solutions Initiative was launched by the German Bundestag in 2002 to make a significant contribution to climate change mitigation by promoting high quality German products in the field of renewable energies. Support has since been provided to small and medium-sized German enterprises (SMEs) in the fields of renewable energies, energy efficiency, smart grids and storage technologies as they seek to position themselves on international markets. The Project Development Programme (PDP) for developing countries and emerging economies is a major pillar of the German Energy Solutions Initiative along with the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad’s Business Trip Programme, the German Energy Agency’s Renewable Energy Solutions Programme, and the Foreign Trade Fair Programme. PDP is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. Phase 5 started in April 2023 in the following target regions: West Africa, South and East Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, and South-East Asia. The programme’s objective is pursued through several sets of measures, which include business development, project development and market development activities.
The Project Development Programme (PDP) is offering an internship opportunity with details below.
National Intern
Station: Ho Chi Minh City
Duration: maximum 6 months, starting as soon as possible
Main activities
The Intern will learn and practice to perform the specific tasks by supporting the project team in following activities:
Project development:
- Support in data collection and site visits where applicable.
- Upload lead data and information on PDP platform and Data Management System (DMS).
- Assist in the quality check of the row data and load measurements.
- Help to review and confirm system simulation and Cash Flow Modeling (CFM) output.
- Support to draft the client presentations.
- Join the meetings with the local consultants and review the deliverables.
Market development:
- Event preparation: support in logistic arrangements for upcoming events as guided by the project team.
- Conduct market study and research on renewable energy, energy legal framework, sector business opportunities, etc.
Requirements
- Vietnamese citizen, who is currently undertaking or completed the bachelor/ postgraduate studies within the last six months (upon commencement of the internship)
- Major in energy, engineering, economics, business, or related field
- Knowledge on power sector or renewable energy is an advantage
- Sensitivity to numbers and technical data is essential.
- Strong verbal and written communication both in English and Vietnamese.
- Good time management skills and ability to handle multi tasks.
- Good computer skills in MS office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Microsoft Teams).
- Able to travel to project site if required by the project team (within Vietnam).
- Good interpersonal skills, responsible, motivated, positive, attention-to-detail and result-oriented
