National Project Coordinator

The ILO Office in Vietnam invites applications from Vietnamese nationals for the position below:

The responsibilities and tasks of the position will be carried out within the ILO results-based management system and in line with ILO rules and regulations.

1.National Project Coordinator, ILO Country Office for Vietnam (CO-Hanoi)

The National Project Coordinator (NPC) will work under the direct supervision of the ILO Country Office Director, and will report to the Chief Technical Advisor of the USDOL-funded Project based in the ILO HQ in Geneva. S/he will also work in close collaboration with the Senior Specialist on OSH in the Decent Work Team based in Bangkok.

The NPC is responsible for project administration and implementation of all project activities. S/he will work closely with project partners to implement the project activities. S/he should be familiar with ILO standards, policies and programmes on labour administration, labour inspection and OSH in order to better understand the requirements of the project and direct in-country project activities.

The assignment is based at the ILO Country Office in Hanoi for 1 year at NOB level

Minimum Requirements include:

  • First level university degree in economics, social sciences, or related field. Demonstrated expertise in areas relevant to this project, such as occupational safety and health or occupational hygiene would be a clear advantage.
  • Three years of experience in the implementation of project activities and contributing to project management and administration (including preparation and submission of required technical and financial reports). Previous working experience in the labour administration or OSH field would be an advantage.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and of national language is required.
  • High standards of integrity, professionalism, personal discipline and impartiality;
  • Excellent organizational and management skills;
  • Knowledge of programme and budget, project administration and evaluation concepts and procedures;
  • Knowledge of the office’s financial rules and regulations;
  • Ability to interpret project information and to identify and analyse problems with implementation;
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting;
  • Ability to formulate and adapt new concepts and methodologies;
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn and develop personally as well as professionally;
  • Ability to develop training materials, alternative courses of action, project proposals;
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to write accurate reports;
  • Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision;
  • Ability to work under time and political pressure and meet tight deadlines
