National Project Coordinator (NPC) on HIV

The ILO Office in Vietnam invites applications from Vietnamese nationals for the position below:

The responsibilities and tasks of the positions will be carried out within the ILO results-based management system and in line with ILO rules and regulations.

National Project Coordinator (NPC) on HIV

Under the direct supervision of the Director of the Country Office for Vietnam, and in close consultation with HIV regional specialist, DWT Bangkok as well as with the Asia regional facilitator, ILOAIDS (Geneva), the NPC will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the project on Improving the working conditions of entertainment workers as a means to strengthen HIV prevention, treatment and care. The assignment is based in Hanoi for one year at NOA level, with the possibility of extension subject to availability of funds.

Minimum Requirements include:

  • First level university degree in social science, economics, labour studies or public health. 
  • At least two years’ work experience in management of development projects in labour, social and/or HIV related field. A good understanding and experience on issues of gender quality and gender based programming is an advantage.
  • Excellent command of English; Vietnamese speaking, writing and comprehension fluency is expected
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and manage technical co-operation projects of international organizations; Ability to work effectively in an international project team and participate in technical and advisory missions to the provinces; Ability to prepare reports of a sound technical quality; Knowledge of programme and budget, project administration and evaluation concepts and procedures. Knowledge of the office’s financial rules and regulations. Knowledge of office-wide activities and objectives. Ability to interpret project information and to identify and analyse problems with implementation. Good drafting skills. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to clarify information. Good computer applications skills. Organizational skills. Ability to work on own initiative as well as a member of a team. Ability to deal with people with tact and diplomacy. Ability to supervise staff
