I. Summary of the Post:
Under the direct supervision of the Head of HCMC Office and Private Sector Partnerships, the Partnerships officer is an account and project manager responsible to support the planning and implementation of UNICEF Vietnam’s Private Sector Engagement Strategy to mobilize the corporate sector in support of children’s rights.
II. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The key focus of the Partnerships Officer is to support the implementation of UNICEF Viet Nam Private Sector Engagement Partnerships strategy, focusing on (1) promoting corporate social responsibility (CSR) in relevant areas of child survival and development and protection and (2) developing long-term partnerships with the private sector in order to advocate for children, mobilise resources and support innovation for children for the Viet Nam country programme. In coordination with the Partnerships Specialist and the Programme staff, the Partnerships Officer will manage several projects and accounts including:
1. Support the implementation of a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Children’s Rights Agenda:
Help establish a network of alliances to support and promote the CSR and Children’s Rights agenda, such as umbrella business bodies and influential private sector individuals, focusing on promoting CSR in the areas of child development and protection. Support the development of relevant communication and programmatic materials to support the private sector in effectively implementing their CSR agenda, promoting and protecting the rights of children.
2. Coordinate and Manage Private Sector Partnerships
In coordination with and under supervision of the Partnerships Specialist, supports the implementation and coordinates the day-to-day activities with the private sector including local and global partnerships, in order to achieve high-value results for children.
3. Develop Fundraising and Communication tools
Works jointly with Communications, Programmes and Operations to support the development of fundraising tools for the private sector such as fundraising campaignmaterials, communication tools, presentations, partners updates, annual report for donors, UNICEF Viet Nam website, newsletters, social media tools, and online fundraising.
4. Promote innovation for children and participation of young business leaders
Supports and stimulates innovation for children through various activities. With guidance and under supervision of the Partnerships Specialist, coordinates and supportsthe UNICEF Next Generation Vietnam team to build awareness, advocacy and raise funds for UNICEF.
III. Qualifications:
1. Education
- University degree and relevant equivalent background in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or Management.
2. Work Experience
- Minimum of two years of relevant professional work experience in private sector related to marketing, journalism, branding/advertising, business development and/or corporate social responsibility.
- Proven ability to drive results and lead on small projects.
- Experience in account/client management a must.
- Good knowledge of use of social media in a business environment.
- Knowledge of use of mobile technology a plus.
- Creative and graphic designs experience a plus.
3. Language Proficiency
- Fluency in English and local working language of the duty station.
