Pharma Group (PG) represents the voice of the international research-based pharmaceutical industry in Vietnam. Pharma Group currently has 21 members who share the mission of ensuring fast and sustainable access to high quality, safe and innovative medicines for patients in Viet Nam. Member companies are headquartered in the EU, UK, Switzerland, the U.S. and Japan.

Pharma Group operates as a Sector Committee of the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham). EuroCham is one the principal voices of the European business community in Vietnam, representing over 1,000 businesses. EuroCham’s mission is to represent the business interests of its members in Vietnam and to improve the business environment in the country for the benefit of all.

Job Summary

 

The Policy Officer is responsible for managing and executing PG Working Groups’ activities and projects, to achieve the objectives set out by the PG Board. This includes monitoring and analysing policy changes, developing position papers and implementing advocacy actions together with industry experts.

This role is dynamic, fast-paced, highly collaborative, and covers a broad range of strategic topics that are critical to the innovative pharmaceutical industry.

Location

Ho Chi Minh City – Vietnam

Type of Contract

1-year fixed term contract (renewable) upon successful completion of a 2-month probation period

Key Working Relationships

  • Internal: Pharma Group Board and General Assembly members, Working Group members, EuroCham
  • External: Vietnam authorities, Embassies, regional and global associations

Main Duties

  • Policy advocacy: Proactively identify and analyze policy changes, collaborate with industry leaders to build common industry policy positions and advocacy actions that support the innovative pharmaceutical industry’s goals. This includes consolidating feedback on draft legislation and contributing to PG’s stakeholder communications.
  • Project management: Lead PG policy-related projects and manage 3rd party consultants to ensure high quality deliverables.
  • Working Group coordination: Coordinate the activities of PG Working Groups, including meetings, WG communications and providing regular progress reports to the PG Senior Policy Officer, PG Director and WG Sponsors.
  • Support the PG Secretariat team members in engagements with Government, local and regional associations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant and hands-on experience in policy advocacy or consulting
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience working with or within industry advocacy organizations, associations, or platforms, especially those related to the pharmaceutical industry, is a plus

Core Competencies  

  • Effectively understand complex and technical information and execute initiatives in a clear, convincing and audience-appropriate manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Vietnamese
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • A proactive team player with a strong sense of ownership and accountability

Language

  • Good command of English and Vietnamese
