Program Assistant Consultant

Background

USAID SHIFT is a five-year, PEPFAR and USAID-funded program implemented by FHI 360. The project’s main aims are to accelerate HIV epidemic control in assigned provinces; transition sustainable HIV services; and provide demand-driven technical assistance.

FHI 360 Vietnam is recruiting a consultant to provide program assistance to:

  • Help organize internal and external project events
  • Assist in generating project internal and external communications
  • Help produce, track and organize communications products
  • Provide additional ad-hoc support to assist the project’s Communications and Knowledge Management (CKM) team and project leadership

Key Responsibilities

Assist Communications Manager and CKM team in activities including but not limited to:

  • Using keen attention to detail to closely track activities and communications products.
  • Cataloging communications products, including curating and archiving photographs and helping expand photo library.
  • As needed, work with Communications Manager to help develop new Vietnamese-language information, education and communication (IEC) on HIV services and related domains.
  • Help coordinate with technical teams to meet project reporting requirements.
  • Edit content (text and graphics) to improve readability, accuracy, alignment with technical requirements and visual appeal in English and Vietnamese.
  • Assist in translation of key documents from English to Vietnamese or Vietnamese to English, and provide frequent casual interpretation of information between languages.
  • Support internal and external knowledge and information sharing.
  • Support adherence to USAID and FHI 360 policies and procedures.
  • Other tasks as required

Requirements:

  • Vietnamese citizen
  • University degree (degree in public health, communications or education ideal but not required)
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage numerous competing deadlines
  • Highly detail-oriented and thorough
  • Being a motivated team player who desires to learn and grow with a “can-do” attitude
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Fluency in, and ability to edit, Vietnamese
  • Ability to communicate professionally in written and verbal English
  • Superb interpersonal communication skills

The following are beneficial, but not required:

  • Professional experience in development sector, with international donors, particularly experience working with USAID
  • Knowledge of government health systems and HIV/AIDS, or other previous work experience in health
  • Demonstrated experience presenting technical information

Reporting:

The consultant will report to Communications Manager, USAID SHIFT.

Contract duration:

Consulting contract, initial duration of six months.
