Program Assistant (Part-time)

SNV Vietnam is looking for a Program Assistant, based in Hanoi, Vietnam (National part-time consultancy contract)

SNV has been working in Vietnam since 1995. Using the market based approach, SNV is committed to reducing poverty by catalyzing sustainable solutions for the poor in agriculture, energy, water & sanitation, and REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation).

SNV’s Inclusive Business (IB) Program supports and promotes business initiatives that integrate the low-income population into the supply chain of companies as suppliers, employees, distributors and/or consumers that generate win-win solutions for both, economic benefits for the companies and job and income increase for the low-income population.

SNV, BoP Innovation Center and VC4A have partnered up to lunch an Inclusive Business Accelerator providing tailor made services for private sector companies to successfully overcome the pioneers gap for Inclusive Business entrepreneurs. The IBA is built around the following business units: 1) Collective, 2) Inclusive Business Accelerator local offices in Vietnam and Mozambique, and 3) On-line platform for knowledge dissemination and investor-investee match-making.

We are seeking for highly qualified candidates to fill in the position of Program Assistant for the Inclusive Business Accelerator in Vietnam (2014-2016).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a tailor made financial management, monitoring and reporting system for the project under the existing SNV system and in compliance with the donor (Dutch government) requirements
  • Regularly consolidate data from the administration into reports and overviews and prepare management information to Project Manager and/or donor based on guidelines
  • Maintain general ledger and maintain and reconcile bank accounts, prepare financial transactions and payments, liquidity applications, based on financial and accounting procedures and guidelines of the project Manager and the donor
  • Compile and maintain a project documents archive and database: legal, technical and financial, and maintain quality and accessibility of archive and files, conform administrative procedures and filing procedures
  • Assist all members in daily administration tasks, preparation of program documentation and paper work
  • Keep the program team agenda’s up to date, arrange meetings and appointments
  • Make travel arrangement for members and visitors of the program
  • Support other activities based on the Project Manager’s request

Candidate profile

  • Vietnamese citizen
  • 2 years of relevant working experience on:
  • Financial management of programs and projects funded by external donors.
  • Administrative support and logistic
  • Finance and/or accounting bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification
  • Understanding of poverty and social impact
  • Ability to think independently, analyze problems, and identify solutions;
  • Excellent spoken and written Vietnamese and English
  • Good computer skills in MS-applications (Word, Excel, Internet, Email)

Contract Duration: One-year part-time associate consultancy with possibility of extension
