We are currently seeking for a qualified professional for the position of PROGRAM OFFICER, Sub-sector Development (SSD) Program for Rice. This hiring is for an anticipated project “Towards an ASEAN Common Quality Standard for Rice in Vietnam and Cambodia.” The PO will be based in South Vietnam or South Cambodia and working full-time.

Expected starting date: January 2014

Basic requirements:

• University/Bachelor or Master in Agriculture, Agri-business, Agricultural Economics or a closely related field with specialization in rice, or equivalent experience in value chain development in Vietnam and/or Cambodia, working with farmer organisations and private companies in the rice sub sector.
• At least 5 years work experience in agricultural and rural development programs, preferably in Mekong Region Countries; experience in organizing and conducting farmers’ extension, and training in rice sub-sector; previous work on value chain development will be a distinct edge; and experience in working and/or relating with private companies.
• English proficiency in speaking and writing is must; Vietnamese or Cambodian national; preferably can speak both Vietnamese and Cambodian languages.
