Oxfam offers an internship programme for young Vietnamese graduates who are passionate about Oxfam's mission of working with others to overcome poverty, suffering and injustice. Selected interns will provide administrative support to the team, gain essential office skills, and take part in project activities as well as a number of training opportunities. They will gain invaluable working experience that benefits their future employment. Internship contracts last for 01 year.

We are currently seeking a Vietnamese national to fill internship position:

Programme Intern, Education Governance Programme (Aim 2)

Location:         Hanoi, Vietnam
Oxfam Purpose:    Oxfam works with others to find lasting solutions to poverty and suffering (www.oxfam.org.uk)
Programme goal:    Aim 2 works towards the goal that aims to have more children (especially girls and ethnic minority children) access their rights to quality basic education through promoting good governance in education sector.
Reporting line:      Report to Programme Officers
Starting date:    as soon as possible but no later than 26 January 2015

Working location is with Oxfam Great Britain (OGB) Hanoi Office with occasional travel to project areas.
Allowance: Based on OGB’s intern policies - USD 160 per month; when travel to project site required intern will receive the same travel allowance as full-time staff.

Specific Responsibilities:
(In order of priority)

1.    Support the POs and Programme Coordinator (PC) with the programme finance management (project budgeting, expenditure, forms and procedures);
2.    Support documentation activities, namely, application of digital technology for creative reporting (bi-annually, annually or after workshops); interviewing; filming and photo-taking;
3.    Provide creative inputs to project activities;
4.    Support programme team in organising workshops, seminars, training courses, etc;
5.    Contact programme partners, consultants and other stakeholders in relevant activities;
6.    Provide translation and interpretation services (Vietnamese – English and vice versa);
7.    Be in charge of general administration (filing documents, managing the programme library, booking, circulating mail, fax, photocopying, scanning);
8.    Search and provide data that serve as a basis for day-to-day implementation process of the programme;
9.    Join field trips when required;
10.    Others as appropriate

Expected competencies and skills:

•    Vietnamese citizen, University degree
•    Good computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet).
•    Good knowledge and experience in financial management
•    Good knowledge of digital application for creative reporting, documentation
•    Strong written and spoken English and Vietnamese.
•    Commitment and inspiration to work in development areas and poor community
•    Proven experiences of working/ volunteering for youth groups, university clubs or non government organizations.
•    Good understandings on education and youth issues.
•    Proven experiences of organizing events/ workshops
•    Hobbies and skills for media work is an asset (blog, digital camera, camcorder, poster making etc.)
•    Ability to travel to programme/project areas on a regular basis.

Learning opportunities:

•    Taking part in relevant programme events (internal training events, field-trips to provinces, etc.);
•    Taking part in monitoring and evaluation missions as appropriate;
•    Induction to financial management system, programme operations of Oxfam;
•    Developing career development plan and reviewing regularly with line-supervisor.
