JOB TITLE: Project Accountant
POSITION SUMMARY:
Contract type: Local, fulltime (100% FTE)
Contract duration: 1 year (extension to be based on performance and availability of funds)
Location: Ho Chi Minh
BACKGROUND:
Friends for International Tuberculosis Relief (FIT) is a registered non-profit organization working in the field of tuberculosis (TB) prevention and care service delivery, technical assistance, advocacy and research.
FIT is a young, dynamic and growing organization. We now have office-based staff working across five cities in Viet Nam. FIT work in close collaboration with Provincial and National TB Programs and other in-country partners to implement projects funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 program, the Stop TB Partnership’s TB REACH initiative, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, UNITAID and Johnson & Johnson. We have also had multiple active research partnerships, including with the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in the UK, the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden, the KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation in the Netherlands, and Ceres Nanosciences and SureAdhere Mobile Technology in the United States. FIT staff have supported the implementation of other TB programs in South and Southeast Asia, and represented Viet Nam at multiple regional and international forums on TB technical assistance.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Acts as the first-hand reviewer of all payment vouchers and supporting documents of projects/programs in accordance with the policies and procedures, as well as donor’s requirements and regulations
- Ensures all issued (outgoing) sub/agreements and payments of projects/programs are processed in a timely manner in accordance with policies and procedures, as well as donor’s requirements and regulations.
- Ensures the implementation of FIT’s standards, policies/procedures and best practices in the projects/programs.
- Prepares Payment Vouchers for project payments, Deposit Vouchers for project income/revenue.
- Prepares Journal Entries for any necessary project expenditure adjustments and submit for the Finance Manager’s and Finance Director’s review and approval.
- Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures;
- Prepare AR and AP accounting entries by compiling and analyzing account information;
- Other work assigned by the immediate supervisor or the Management Team, as and when necessary;
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field;
- At least 2 years of experience working in accounting or finance in project management;
- Experience in accounting software;
- Detail oriented with exacting standards to maintain accuracy and impartiality in all work products;
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Vietnamese language;
- Ability to balance numerous tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines;
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Excel;
- Keen attention to detail;
- Good attitude, self-motivated, and ability to work well individually as well as in teams.
