Project Assistant – Hope in Action (1 position)

World Vision Vietnam (WVV) invites competent Vietnamese candidates for the position: Project Assistant – Hope in Action (1 position) based in Ho Chi Minh City. 

Area Development Program (ADP) is an approach to child focused development, emphasizing the process of community participation, sustainability, and integrating activities in the areas of food security, agriculture, micro-enterprise, health, nutrition, education, water, and sanitation.

Main Responsibilities:
The position supports World Vision Vietnam in improving the quality life of HIV/AIDS infected and affected orphans and other vulnerable children (OVC) in District 8, Ho Chi Minh City by reducing stigma and discrimination on OVC, their family members and increasing access to care and support services for OVC.
 The position assists the Urban ADP Manager in designing, planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating of the Hope in Action Project (funded by WV Germany) in Ho Chi Minh City.

Knowledge, Skills and Attitude Required:
The following knowledge, skills and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience, or on the job training:
- University graduate in related fields, preferably in Public Health or Social Works with at least 2 years work experience in the area of HIV/AIDS or primary health care.
- Good understanding or experience in Community Development.
- Experience in Project Management (planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation).
- Knowledge and experience in training/ capacity building for local stakeholders/partners.
- Fair written English skills, particularly report writing skills.
- Well-developed written and oral communications skills in Vietnamese.
- Good computer skills (word processing, excel and power point).
- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills. 
- Ability to work with a minimum of supervision, exercise judgment, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Willingness to work at the project sites (district/commune levels).
- Be committed to working with and learning from the poor and marginalized people, especially children.
