I. Background

The Centre for Supporting Green Development (GreenHub) is a Vietnamese, civil society organization under the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (Vusta) with oversight by the Ministry of Science & Technology, and with an CSO Registration Number A-1555. GreenHub’s Vision is the green development of Vietnam, and its mission is to connect communities and resources to embrace green lifestyle practices, sustainable production and nature conservation.

The “Local Solutions for Plastic Pollution” funded by the USAID addresses the challenges faced by local communities in overcoming the negative environmental health impacts caused by plastics pollution which is increasing in Vietnam. The ‘Local Solutions for Plastic Pollution’ project activities aim to empower local communities to reduce plastics pollution by building collective action from the ground up by creating, strengthening and uniting networks, communities and individuals in Hanoi, Da Nang, and Hoi An (Quang Nam) (https://greenhub.org.vn/local-solutions-for-plastic-pollution-usaid/)  

II. Job Description:

Project Management and implementation

  • Develop a project plan (Annual, Quarter, Monthly Planning) in accordance with the approved proposal in cooperation with the project team and key stakeholders where appropriate and feasible, rotationally facilitate the monthly project meetings
  • Effectively use all project resources to ensure that activities are carried out as planned, corresponding to performance indicators as outlined in the project design milestones and the annual plan. approved; Coordinate project implementation activities in accordance with the schedule and budget as agreed between the stakeholders.
  • Identify deviations from planned activities, unexpected problems and provide timely information to the Project Manager and/or other relevant project team for full consultation and consultation and with partners if needed.
  • Track, monitoring project work and milestones and ensure deadlines are met. Identify operational priorities and take timely actions to meet deadlines.
  • Coordinate the collection and analysis of information and databases to accurately report project activities periodically (MEL)
  • Prepare weekly buletin, and quarterly, bi-annual and annual progress reports to meet the requirements and guidelines of GreenHub and sponsors; Review the milestone reports with Project Manager
  • Conduct the Steering Committee meeting among project partner (monthly)
  • Monitor, support and work closely with Hoi An project coordinator to implement project at Hoi An site.

Facilitating cross-functions activities

  • Provide guidance, job training and/or support as needed to the project team and partners to ensure projects are properly and efficiently implemented in compliance with policies, standards of USAID and the value of GreenHub.
  • Check and reconcile financial records within assigned responsibility to ensure financial policies / procedures are respected and properly implemented
  • Cooperate and consult relevant partners/ departments to solve any problem/ conflict or to proceed any relevant initiatives/ requests.
  • Keep sponsor informed about the important events of the project and periodical progress
  • Prepare logistics arrangements for donors' field visits, if any.

III. Request

1.      Technical skills needed:

  • Have at least a Bachelor's degree, preferably in science, environment, society, education or related fields, having a Master degree is an advantage
  • At least 5 years of work experience in the environment, development or related work.
  • A deep passion for environment sustainability and development

2.      Personal Qualities Needed

  • Strong facilitation, communication and partnership skills
  • Explore new ideas, opportunities and partnerships for program and organization development
  • Think beyond the project framework and creatively about new ways to support GreenHub’s mission in the journey of sustainable development
  • Good teamwork skills
  • Enthusiastic, honest and trustworthy
  • Ability to prioritize with minimal supervision and work independently as well as function as a member of a team
  • Ability to work in an adaptive and flexible way
  • Good social media skills
  • Good reading/writing skills in English and Vietnamese
  • Good computer skills – Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
