Position Description

IDG is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Project Coordinator on USAID Vietnam Digital Trade (VDT) activity.

The VDT is a two-year project (2023-2025) addressing regulatory gaps and promoting private sector engagement in the rapidly growing digital economy. USAID VDT activity supports the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s (MOIT) implementation of frameworks that facilitate digital trade, with an emphasis on supporting MOIT in holding public-private dialogues to ensure implementation is done in consultation with the private sector. Regulations that are responsive to private sector needs remove bottlenecks in trade faced by enterprises and increase regulatory transparency, helping to shape an e-commerce sector where enterprises of all sizes can benefit. The activity encourages the participation of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in digital trade by introducing new business models and other best practices, such as traceability of goods, as well as facilitating cross-border connections between enterprises via MOIT’s digital trade promotion platform.

The Project Coordinator will support the successful implementation of VDT activities. This role involves supporting the Planning and Finance Department of the MOIT in coordinating activities across MOIT departments, facilitating events, managing documentation, and ensuring effective communications among Departments.

Key Tasks/Responsibilities:

The Project Coordinator will conduct the following tasks and responsibilities when requested:

Administrative Support:

- Assist the Department of Planning and Finance of MOIT to:

  • Process Project-related administrative procedures;
  • Manage correspondence and communications between MOIT departments.
  • Compiling project-related reports as required by the MOIT or by other Government agencies.
  • Maintain VDT project filings and records.
  • Monitoring the timely submission of reports and documents to the relevant administrative office of MOIT/Government in compliance with the official deadlines.
  • Work closely with DPF and VDT teams to facilitate the preparation of annual work plan, and other reports.

M&E support:

  • Support the VDT in facilitating the collection of data, information, documentation, statistics, etc. needed for VDT to measure indicators and compile periodical draft.

Coordination:

  • Help meetings arrangement with MOIT departments or other stakeholders, in cooperation with the VDT team, when requested.
  • Help translation and interpretation at meetings, when requested.

Regular Reporting:

  • Report regularly to the VDT Project Director/MOIT (Planning and Finance Department).
  • Support project progress report preparation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Alert Project Director/MOIT (Planning and Finance Department) about challenges.
  • Participate in VDT team meetings if requested and to any MOIT internal meetings as requested by the Planning and Finance Department of MOIT.

Qualifications:

  • One of the following Degrees: law, economics, business administration, international trade,  political science or similar field;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working on relevant topics regarding trade;
  • Problem solving ability, as well as ability to analyze and anticipate to identify solutions;
  • Good communications, presentation skill and leadership.
  • Strong written and oral skills;
  • Good computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Applications);
  • Strong English and Vietnamese written, oral, and presentation skills; and
  • Ability to travel within Vietnam.
