Project Intern

BACKGROUND

CRS Vietnam has implemented a number of projects aimed at promoting equal access to education and employment and social inclusion for children and youth with disabilities. In earlier projects, CRS has collaborated with MOET to pilot Inclusive Education for children with disabilities in primary and junior secondary school levels; since 2007, CRS has collaborated with 3 higher education institutions, one in Ha Noi, one in Ho Chi Minh City and one in Danang, to implement IT training and job placement for youth with disabilities. In the current phase, CRS is building on its past experiences and achievements to work with MOET to develop and pilot using ICT to make education more accessible to children with disabilities.

Title:          Project Intern
Reports to:     Chief of Party – Inclusion of Vietnamese with disabilities program
Location:    Hanoi
Timeframe:   Six months

Main Responsibilities

  • Support project team in processing paperwork for the IVWD project. This includes filing, documentation of project papers, filing of consultancy papers upon request by the project staff.
  • Support project team in organizing trainings, workshops and events under the supervision of CRS staff
  • Support project team in contacting with the project Alumni network for the interviews relating to post- training activities upon request and assignment by the associated project officer.
  • Translate internal documents and emails from Vietnamese to English and vice versa
  • Provide translation for non-Vietnamese CRS staff and international consultant at informal meetings and events
  • Edit and organize English and Vietnamese documents under the supervision of CRS staff
  • Support in translation during surveys and interviews if there is non-Vietnamese consultant participation under the supervision of CRS staff.

Qualifications

  • University degree in foreign language, social science, or related discipline
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills required
  • Computer skills (MS Word and Excel)
  • Experience working with people with disabilities is preferred
